How are they punched? (is it punched to one TN then looped and punched again?)

Yes, it is punched down to the port number. What i am trying to do is set this port up to be recorded but i am unsure which wires to use to record.

Not sure on Difinity........

Can you place your butt set accross the Tip/Ring and hear conversations?
If so, then you can record that port - You'll need resistance of approx: 8K ohms on the tip or ring side to prevent a direct short. If it's a digital port then you'll need a digital recorder or a digital-to-analog recorder....Again, not sure on Difinity, but this is how one would do it on a Nortel product....

The 7400 + 8400 series telephone sets used (or still use in my case) two pairs.

The cross connect should bridge the orange & green pairs to the port on the phone system.

Please let me know if you have any other questions on this...since I'm still all to familar with these phones & 4 wire digital ports.
