strange voice mail problem

I have two Class Of Restrictions on my definity system. COR 1 is restricted to certain area codes (local and some others). The other, COR 2 is all of North America. I wish to add a couple of toll free area codes and some other area codes to COR 1. I tried to do change COR 1, but this isn't helpful. Anyone can shed some light on how to change COR1 ?

Thank You

Famous Places Facts

I think you should look at the ars table and follow the route pattern and time of day routing.

Norstar and MCK Extenders

I believe what you will want to do is to setup more cor's (class of restriction).
Within these cor's you will want different FRL's (facility restriction levels).
Then you can setup different routes based on the FRL's and you will nee to set the proper routes in the ars tables.

Hey bjohn, follow what BobG is saying, he seems to be more knowlegeable regarding CORs and FRLs than me. Thanks Bob.

I was trying to find some info on this
and went to the Avaya Support site and this is what they have to say about COR's and FRL's:

How can I use the COR and FRL to manage calling privileges?

Each time you set up a phone, you use the station screen to assign a COR. You can create different COR's for different groups of users. For example, you may want executives in your company to have different calling privileges than receptionists.

When you set up a COR, you specify a facility restriction level (FRL) on the class of restriction screen. The FRL determines the calling privileges of the user. Facility restriction levels are ranked from 0-7. For the COR assigned to a station, FRL 7 has the highest level of calling privileges. You also assign an FRL to each route pattern preference in the route pattern screen. For the FRL assigned to a route pattern, FRL 7 has the highest level of restriction. When a user makes a call, the system checks the user's COR. The call is allowed if the caller's FRL is higher than or equal to the route pattern's FRL

I hope that helps some. Avaya has a pretty good website with a lot of good info:

Connecting Nortel M1 Opc 11 and Avaya G3r without QSIG / 2Mb

I wasn't able to do much. I don't want to create a new class of restriction. Most of our stations are set up with COR1 and I need to add a few more area codes to this COR1.
I tried to change cor (no luck), I don't know how changing the FRL would make this work. I'm just looking for some place in the menus where the current area codes are listed and add a few more area codes to it. Haven't had any luck so far. my vendor wants $120 an hour just so that they can do this...

M1 networked to norstar?

Bjohn,
I could help you tomorrow if you would like and I won't charge $120 bucks.
I will send you a PM with my phone # at work and I probably can help talk you through it. I work 7am to 4pm Pacific time.

Don't you just hate

Hey BJohn,

Could you cut and paste both CORs into this post, at least the first 2 pages? How many users do you have in COR 1?

Did you try with the Toll Analasys table?

same configuration in both COR and in one of them call the toll analisys, in this table restrict the area code that you don't want to use in the COR.
