Analog board Installation

Hello I need to install new analog card in the Definity and program it. It is a Definity prologic A,B,C carrier. I am putting it in the C carrier.

Can you help on this. Any step by step instructions on the install and programming it . I am recieving the card in a few days. It seems that there are wires running from the C carrier over to the wallfield.

Thanks

You can insert the board hot, they are designed for that and there is no service impact. The PBX will see it automatically and once the lights go out on the board it is ready to use. You will program your analog phones the same way you already do, just use the new board's ports.

Your comment about wires running to the wall from the C carrier leads me to ask, do you have a punch tool and have you ever run crossconnects?

Also, what type of analog card are you getting? If it is a TN793, it has 24 ports and you will use every pair at the wallfield except the last one. If it is something else, then your crossconnects could be different.

Let us assume you put the card in slot C5, identify where that cable is at the wallfield. Your programming will be to add a station to port 1c0501 to 1c0524 and run a crossconnect from the appropriate pair at the wallfield to the phone. If it is not labeled just count the pairs.
