Downgrading S8300

Hi,
I have an S8300 in our PBX Lab. This system is used for interop testing only.
It was upgraded a few months ago from CM 1.3 to 3.1. During the upgrade our business partner replaced the S8300 processor module with a new S8300B module. Now the old module sits on the shelf complete with its
hard drive etc.

Now I received a request for some product testing on the CM 1.3. So I wonder if it would be possible to power down the system, swap processors and when I bring it back on line I will have my old 1.3 fully functional system.
Then I can do a reverse thing some time later to go back
to 3.1.

I wanted to get a second opinion on that just in case.

Thanks

You should be able to do this with no problem but it is interesting that they left the old S8300 behind. That doesn't usually happen, the BP usually has to account for them with Avaya.

Thanks

Being a survivor of Siemens PBX business downsizing, I have very little knowledge of Avaya business process.
I've been working with Avaya switches for almost four years now, but all this time is spend on the end user side.

The upgrade was supposed to be handled by our former vendor (a large "mostly" remote service BP). They in turn subcontracted a top name in Avaya field service to do a G700 upgrade. We own the PBX and our vendor sold us a new S8300B. I asked them about the old board, but my sales rep told me that we own that.

Thanks for your help
Yury
