Hi Folks,

We are getting a new site ready and I am having a hard time getting Symposium Agent Desktop Display running.

My WebClient Server is receiving the Multicast Feed from Symposium however it doesnt' seem to be able to push it out.

We have the same setup at another office and I checked everything I could think of and everything from a network/ip perspective seems to be configured the same way but it still doesn't work. When I launch A.D.D it just sits there.

My first thought was that Multicast was not enable on our network but that can't be since WebClient is able to receive the feed from Symposium which of course is on the CLAN. I Used the Icertrace tool and Webclient is getting data but again it can't push it back out.

Anyone run into this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you loaded the SOAP client on the desktop that needs the ADD?

This is a reply to a similary question - It may help:

Quote:

Symposium 5.0 Server Side and both WebClient/ThickClient have to have the same port policies in your LAN switches.

Basically the port policy has to be wide open and allow multi-broadcasting. If your IS Department has a lot of 'security' on their ports - then it will actually block Symposium Client files.

Webclient has to be setup properly for each PC.

1. You have to be logged in to the PC with Admin Rights*,
2. In your IE ->Tools ->Options -> Advanced tab, you have to turn off "Reuse Windows for Shortcuts".
3. In your IE ->Tools -> Security -> Trusted Sites, You will need to add your SCCS IP to Trusted Sites
4. Install your Client Software - allows SOAP to install.
5. And finally - you have to login to SCCS WebClient with a an account that allows you full rights to all accounts.

* - Note: If your office uses 'Profiles', then you have to give the users 'Profile' admin rights.

Also - in your case verify that the supervisor has rights to historical reporting...

Probably already doing this but the agent ID you use to launch ADD has to be of an agent that is logged in, other wise it won't run.
