Automated Wake Up service

Hello everyone. We are running SCCS 4.0 at one of our locations and I was wondering is there anywhere in the applications that holiday dates can be added like in SECCS or does this have to be done in the voice servers profile in mail?

The holiday schedule can be set up in SCCS scripts using date instrinsics. You can find the specifics for setting up holiday treatments in the SCCS Scripting Guide under Dates.

Example from book:

IF (DATE = May 31, 4 July, christmas_holiday_gv) THEN
EXECUTE Holiday_Section

The reference to christmas_holiday_gv is a variable that you can set up to define a range of dates. The Holiday_Section would be where you would provide the special treatments for holidays.

MS - You will need to script the holidays.

Example:
  • IF DATE = JULY 4 THEN

    GIVE RAN "Closed for Holiday"

    END IF

That's a simple one, you can make it as easy or complex as you like.

We use Script Variables and enter the following:

IF DATE = Holidays
THEN ROUTE CALL "closed mailbox"
END IF

My script variable is then GLOBAL, DATE and includes all dates that we are closed.

On the subject of Christmas and New Year holidays, we have different messages that play xmas and new year opening hours. Each year we review the opening hours for each of the years (trying to influence the business to have as uniform opening hours as possible) .

Where the business is closed for an entire day e. 25th Dec, it is included in the bank_hols variable, where we work part of the day, it is explicitly stated e.g. Christmas Eve

This way we can collate similar opening hours and minimise the number of voice segments that need to be recorded. We've been doing it for three years and it works really well (assuming to agree the hours in plenty of time; we have several hundred lines across the group).

We also have a miscellaneous holiday check that we can update with non-recurring holidays e.g. Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee

IF DATE = December 24 AND TIME OF DAY > 12:29
THEN EXECUTE bank_holiday_section
END IF

IF DATE = bank_hols THEN EXECUTE bank_holiday_section
END IF

IF DATE = December 31 AND TIME OF DAY > 16:59 THEN EXECUTE bank_holiday_section
END IF

IF DATE = misc_hols AND TIME OF DAY <> misc_hol_opening THEN EXECUTE bank_holiday_section
END IF

.
.
.
.

SECTION bank_holiday_section

IF DATE = 31 Dec, 1 Jan, 2 Jan, 3 Jan THEN
GIVE CONTROLLED BROADCAST ANNOUNCEMENT
PLAY PROMPT
VOICE SEGMENT vs_generichol1
DISCONNECT
ELSE
IF DATE = 24 Dec, 25 Dec, 26 Dec, 27 Dec, 28 Dec THEN GIVE CONTROLLED BROADCAST ANNOUNCEMENT
PLAY PROMPT
VOICE SEGMENT vs_generichol2 DISCONNECT
END IF
END IF

IF DATE = misc_hols THEN
GIVE CONTROLLED BROADCAST ANNOUNCEMENT
PLAY PROMPT
VOICE SEGMENT vs_generichol3
DISCONNECT
END IF
