| I have a new SECC 4.2 server that I am having trouble with. It has Su13 installed and the co-resident client installed on the server. When I boot the server up the following services stay in the "Starting" mode on the Smon: VSM ASM TFE The client is also unable to aquire CDN's or perform other aquisitions. My ELAN shows to be enabled, but when I stat it in LD48 is says APPL Disable. I can ping the server from the PBX and the PBX from the server. There is a Call Pilot on the system which uses ELAN 16 so I used ELAN 17 for the SECC. The service update was installed after the server software and database were installed, could this have caused a problem? Any ideas would be most appreciated. | ||||||||

Location: Gulf Coast Rep Power: 5 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Atas - I suggest looking at the event log and deciphering any error codes associated with ASM, VSM - Voice Services Manager, TFE - Task Flow Editor. Open the Event Viewer in the Administrative Tools program group in the Windows NT program manager. And check all those errors - The Maintenance and Diagnostics Guide will give you the meaning of any errors and help you in troubleshooting the system.. Chas2002

| I checked the event viewer. None of those services appear there. The ES-Service has a timeout error and the MAS time service terminated with a 41507 error. I am still researching that, but have found nothing concrete yet. I even re-installed the system with the same end result. The services show to be started in the services window under admin tools. | ||||||||

| Meridian Site survey form I was told by another source that the reason this is happening is that the server's serial number in the keycode doesn't match the PBX serial number. I had built this server for a client in another city and was trying to test it before shipping it out. | ||||||||

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Atascoman, I already saw this problem... Bad thing... When you reboot your server, VSM, ASM & TFE have the Starting status. So you can try this workaround : Unplug the CLAN cable Reboot the server When VSM, ASM & TFE are in starting status, you can replug the CLAN cable. Strange but it has worked for 3 for our sites here ! You wrote "when I boot the server up...", but the question is why did you have to reboot your server... You have certainly a service in error. Sometimes it appears with a third party software. For example in this kind of case, if you have the OAM in error that means you've got the Users table locked by another application. I hope this workaround will be helpfull ! S.
