map drive

Hi guys,

Who has any idea on creating a boot.ini script that would automatically recognize a shared drive on another pc upon booting up?

Regards,
Sepay

When you map a drive (I'm presuming Windows here) there's an option to reconnect at logon. Wouldn't this suffice?

Hi JulianW,

What we need is a script or program, to automatically recognize a shared drive from boot up of a certain server. We will be using this for the failover of our test mail exchange. We are using cloned servers for this setup.

Thanks,

Sepay

Could you use the SUBST command in a batch file run at startup?

I don't believe SUBST works for network drives.

Checkout kixtart.org. Our company uses it for all users upon logon to map to their respective drives, ntp time-sync, and probably a host of other things I'm not aware of. It looks like a pretty advanced little program.

Check out the user manual on their website and look up the USE command.
