I have a DX-80 connected to a CO line that has call waiting service from the bell company. From a digital station set I can dial Feature 3 and it sends a flash hook to the CO and connects me with the new caller if they beeped in. However, when I try using the feature code from the single line set (Flash-#-3) it does not flash the otside line and all I get is a busy signal. Any ideas on why this is not working or a setting I could check?
Thanks,
David

There is a know problem with single line CO Flash. Comdial has come out with software F32 to fix that glitch as well as others. Do you know what software level you are at?

Hey Capitol, thanks for the note. I am not sure what software level we are at but I bet that might be the problem. With a laptop and serial cable can I download the latest version and upload it onto the system? Any ideas, or tips, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David

You need to get a hold of the F32 or A33 software chips. Also, you will need the PCDBA for that software release. Are you a Comdial dealer. If so, you can order the F32 or A33 chips at no cost. You can also download the programming software directly from their web site. If you are not a dealer, I can email you the PCDBA and I might have an extra upgrade kit with the chips that I can send you. I'll have to check....Where are you located?

Hello Capitol, I am located in the southern part of Indiana. We are Comdial Associate Dealers but we do only a little work with the Comdial product (we are an NEC shop). I do have access to the Comdial website so I can download the software. Who do I contact about getting the upgraded firmware chips?

I also wanted to thank you for all of your help, if I can ever return the favor for you on the NEC side please do not hesitate to ask.

David

Avaya Gx/Cisco Unity voicemail integration

Log in to the Comdial Resource web site, then scroll down to 'Choose a Form', then select 'DX80 A33 order form'. It will ask a series of questions, serial #....... Just to let you know you will have to download the 'convert' software as well as the A33 PCDBA. Any questions with the process, let me know.

Hi Capitol,
The DX-80 is installed in a home with very minimal programming. Is it possible to just replace the firmware chips, reload factory default settings and go from there. It will only take a few minutes to reprogram what needs to be setup so it might be easier than converting the database...

The Male Perspective

To the person asking about the problem with the single line set not working with the code to do a hook flash. I would not use the F32 soft ware go right to the A33 it has work out a few other problems that the F32 has . like the display locking up or calles beeing droped I have had to much trouble with the F32 and do not like it . but so far the A 33 has been good .
