Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Switchvox / Asterisk Hi, I've worked with VOIP since back in the days when googling "voip" returned just one company, vonage. Back then it was simple, the choice was either asterisk, another I forgot the name to, and then SipX. It's a different story now. In response to your questions: - Switchvox IS asterisk based but it does not feel like asterisk at all. I've used a few commercial GUIs (not including any that may have come out in the last 3 months) such, and none few come close to switchvox. The guis with features were difficult to use and the easy guis had no features. Fonality is the only gui that came close. I did test one that was better than switchvox, but it costs over $4,000. The best way for you to learn about it's features are to visit their website, it's the same as the system name. - Trying to compare switchvox with Asterisk is difficult because I don't know what you are trying to accomplish. Yes, I know it has something to do with a phone system, but there's much more to it. Asterisk allows one to script and build applications mostly with code, switchvox is limited in comparison but fulfills it's purpose as an advanced phone system that's easy to configure. | ||||||||
