Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Nortel Succession to Cisco Call manager 5.1 H323 connection We can get a call to work fine to and from a Succession 1000E to a Call Manager Express, but fail miserably when calling to a Call Manager 5.1. Call Manager 5.1 to the Succession is fine. Any ideas anyone?

Are you using the same gateway that houses the CME? If so have you run a dial-peer debug to see if your calls are actually hitting the DP that has the ipv4 IP address of the UCM instead of the CME. Are you using 2 different H323 gateway's to get to the 2 different Cisco systems? __________________ Deus ex machina

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Yes we are using H323 connection which, as you say should just be a hand-off from a dial peer. Works fine to the CME but not the UCM which is the confusing thing. (Also works fine out of the same gateway to other Succession 1000E locations.). We believe that we have configured the UCM and the CME in the same way. We are just trying to find out if there is something we might have missed on the Cisco side. We are on a general migration from Nortel to Cisco so all our experience is on the Nortel side and we on a steep Cisco leaning curve. We feel confident that 1000E side is correct, after all we did get it to work to the CME. We have followed all the relevent Cisco documents that detail how to configure both ends. Foe the UCM this was: cisco.com/application/pdf/en/us/guest/products/ps5820/c1237/ccmigration_09186a008048c5da.pdf and for the CME this was: cisco.com/application/pdf/en/us/guest/products/ps562/c1237/ccmigration_09186a00806ce17c.pdf. We will run the dial peer dbug as you suggested and post the results. Thanks

This is what I think Succession DP#1--->IP of CME Router---->phone or Succession DP#2--->IP of UCM---->phone is that right? Also, if that is right, then the doc you used is for CM 4.1.x I don't know that the Nortel Screen prints will be accurate to deliver the call correctly to UCM 5. For instance, I see that it had you set the Codec as G.729. Maybe the call will not complete becasue UCM 5 is not set to accept G729 from external H323 gateways. You need to hit a Transcoding location if the phone is in a G711 zone. Need to get from G729 to G711 somehow. __________________ Deus ex machina
