Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Hardware Configuration Guide for the Cisco VG200 Does anyone have a copy of the "Hardware Configuration Guide for the Cisco VG200"? I found the Hardware Installation Guide for the VG200 on Cisco's website, but couldn't find the Config guide anywhere. Unless this is a VG248. Is it? __________________ Deus ex machina

The Hardware Installation Guide for VG200 makes reference to the Hardware Configuration Guide for VG200, so I figured it existed. Otherwise I guess I just have to mess around with it to try and figure out how I'm supposed to set it up. Or if you happen to have an extra Deus ex machina, perhaps that could just instantly set it up for me. Thanks, Arch __________________ Here's to our wives and lovers --- May they never meet.

FXO? the VG200 is a not-so-glorified 2600 series router. It is missing a chip that enables routing. __________________ Deus ex machina

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I believe it's got the FXO card in it (part on the module says VIC 2FXO-M1) So I would assume that it allows me to have it act as an analog trunk module of sorts which I could then connect to analog dialtone from the CO or from my other PBX. (The Cisco box is in a lab environment) I would say that I don't know where to start, but I did power the VG200 up and connect a laptop to the CONSOLE port. Now I'm pretty much stuck as I've never had my hands on one of these before. Here's the breakdown of the setup thus far: 1 MCS7800 CallManager 4.3 software Configured to run 2 7940 stations which are working 1 VG200 that's plugged in, serving no purpose currently. Any direction you can point me in would be most appreciated. I don't mind reading my way though manuals and all, I just don't know which one to read at this point. Thanks, Arch __________________ Here's to our wives and lovers --- May they never meet.

THis can serve you for 2 individual lines back to your PBX. Check your IOS software rev on the VG200 by stating at the main prompt "Router>" then typing "enable" and getting into Global Configuration Mode signified by a change in Prompt: "Router#" then type "show version".....or "sh ver" will do You need to be on an an IOS version that has the PLUS feature set. Some other versions are inlcusive to the PLUS for instance the "SPSERVICES" featuere set will work as well. This is going to be a steap learning curve if you are below the 12.0 train and have a basic feature set. here is a link to stat figuring this out http://www.cisco.com/kobayashi/support/tac/tools.shtml I think you need a CCO login to use these tools. Choose the "Software Advisor" tool to help you figure out what you need. So, the main things you need to research to get a line up with your PBX is the following -MGCP set up on VG and then add gateway to CM then read up on voice-ports and dial-peers for the VG with MGCP you don't kneed to add all the dial-peers (these are for an H323 connection) But I rememer MGCP was flaky on the VG's so you may need to set the whole thing up as an H323 gateway in which case you will learn a lot about Dial-Peers. good luck __________________ Deus ex machina

I also found this: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/...cnfg/index.htm Which appears to be of some benefit. I'm working on it slowly but surely. __________________ Here's to our wives and lovers --- May they never meet.
