Modular Homes

I am wondering if any of you have experience installing Cat5 or a/v in modular homes? There is a big boom in modular home where I live and we would like to start installing the low voltage cables. Obviously CATV is easy because you can use splitters. With Cat5 for standards you should not have any splitters/cupplers in the walls. If any one has any insight and would like to open up dialoge with me or has a resource your help would be appreciated.

Wiring modular houses is no different than any other structure. The only difference is you have to watch out for beams and crawl on your belly like a reptile

You pick a spot, like the living room, or utility room, or a spare bedroom to bring all of your network cables up. My jacks of choice are the 6 port surface mount housing or the Leviton 49255-Q89 12 port mount that snaps into an S89 bracket. Keep an eye out for plenums, water pipes, and drain pipes, cut your holes in the walls, and carefully drill down with a flexible bit.
Stop the bit as soon as it clears the floor, and poke the hole through the plastic by hand. Now just keep dragging your cables underneath until you finish the job.

Get lots of Ivory and White faceplates, jacks and inserts, and probably Blue Cat5e jacks will jar their senses less than the orange.

Good luck.
