Location: Leeds Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Setup BMS with SQL 2005 Hi all, I am trying to move our BMS setup from my laptop to our server. I can get the program part installed and can access it via web browser but i cannot get the installation to see a database (so none of it works!). The server has SQL 2005 installed on it so i presumed i could use this instead of MSDE. Is this correct? I cannot install the MSDE as i get an error saying "the instance name specified is invalid" presumably because it is trying to use the same name as the sql server. When I install BMS if i specify "Use databse server" and give it 127.0.0.1 or the local servers dns name it doesnt seem to be able to find a database to use. Do i have to pre-configure the database in SQL 2005 or am i doing something wrong? I am using BMS build 3.3.0.12 by the way. Kev. Last edited by hainsworth; 05-28-2008 at 05:57 AM. Or maybe if SQL 2005 has a different username & password to MSDE (User sa: no password) then you will need to change the settings in (I think) ...\Program Files\Ericsson\BMS\Server\OAMSERVER.properties. | ||||||||
