Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Ericsson BP50 & RASC Hi all, Having found that the hardisk of the PC that was used to administer the office Ericsson BP50 had crashed, I set about attempting to create a similar setup. I had a copy of the RASC program on my laptop from which I copied all of the files onto the new BP50 PC but I later found out that the original floppies would contain an 'install.bat' file. Assuming this to be cause of my problem, I have found in the office 2 sets of discs annotated RASC9B and RASC9F but on the basis that the original rasc program folder on the pc was RASC12C, I assume these floppies are very old versions. Anyway, I 'installed' the 9F hoping this would cure my main problem but alas not and so I go on.... Basically on attempting to execute the 'rasc.exe', the program attempts to run, opening a dos window (blank) but after 'checking' something out??, it closes. Additional attempts the run the program, the dos window merely flashes and immediatly closes, note there are no error messages observed. I have the same problem when attempting to run the program from my laptop. In both instances I am running Microsoft Windows 2000. Any help greatly appreciated, K.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Sepay, I did what you suggested and we have lift-off, well sort of I am now able to fire up the RASC and the window remains open whereas previously it would flash up for a moment, carry out some checks and then close, so getting somewhere. Next step was to create an account and to access the pbx which is via an external modem connected to an internal extension. The problem here is that the program refuses to recognise the modem, constantly reporting 'The system cannot open COM2 port requested by the application'. I have tried changing com ports both physically and within the program, but it will not acknowledge the com2 port. But, using a 'dialler' program installed on the pc, I am able to 'talk' to and dial numbers through the modem. Any advice greatly appreciated, Rgds, webdepbx

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Sepay, Forget the above as I have succesfully loaded the software on to another pc with a different modem and I am able to 'talk' to the modem and can connect to the BP50, but now the next problem! I have set in the DOS screen the default password but when RASC attempts connection to connect to the pbx and enters this password it fails stating that the password is incorrect. I am able to use this default password to enter the programming mode from my desk telephone, can you assist? Another issue I have is I would like to load this software on to my laptop but this machine has no FD's. I have attempted to copy the software on to a USB drive but the software I have is specifically for FD's as it relies upon disc ID's and possibly other areas, also can you assist here. Appreciate all the help you can provide, K.

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | hi wccdepbx, Can you check on the system itself if it allows remote connection, if the system is set with the proper local for remote programming? Also, The only way to install that product is thru the use of FD's, you could try editing the batch file to look for the files on the USB. Thanks, Sepay

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Sepay, Thnx for the response but prior to the original pc running RASC crashing, I was always able to access the pbx remotely by dialling into a specific configured number with, as far as I was aware, the deafult password. As I am the only person with access, neither the system set for remote access nor the default password which I can use from my desk telephone. Is there any way I can check this area i.e. if remote is allowed and what are the set passwords from my deskphone. Re only being able to us FD's to load the program, I have tried editing the files but with no success, any other ideas greatly appreciated. As always, apreciate any help. K

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi all, I have read and checked every shred of information I have on the BP50 re the RASC access and its default password but to no avail. I am able to access the system from my terminal with the same default password with no problem. Does anyone have the document EN/LZB BS 103 1197 RASC Uen, "RASC" as mentioned in the 'fault tracing' document secn 4.2. I have gone one stage further and apprehensively restarted the switch but still to no avail, Any help appreciated, Rgds, wccdepbx
