Rep Power: 0 ![]() | BTU-D Interfacing to VegaStream 400 VoIP gateway Well I got past my initial difficulties in setting up my old BP250, now I am stuck at actually using it to make calls! I got my hands on a VegaStream VoIP gateway which has four T1/E1 ports on one end and Ethernet/SIP on the other. I was thinking "how difficult can it be to setup?" - but after a couple of days of banging my head against the wall, i am getting nowhere... The cabling seems OK but when doing a ISDN trace on the Vega, I am getting no rx traces. And on the Ericsson end I am geting a "14" on t link supervisor. + "loss of multiframe sync" error. I checked the signals on a scope, and everything seems ok. I have connected as follows: LA1 -> RX+ = 4 LB1 -> RX- = 5 LA2 <- TX+ = 1 LB2 <- TX- = 2 The vega says it attempts to establish layer 2 but fails. What could this be? I know there are two prom versions and I think I have the ones for Swedish CAS, but would that make it fail to even establish layer 2? Anyone with experience of any similar setup? Ideas, hints or tips greatly appreciated!

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Prom versions The proms I was referring to are LZY2032212/1 Prom-set for BTU-D CAS,MFC/MFE LZY2032213/1 Prom-set for BTU-D ISDN (PRA) I think I have the first version - but what I am wondering is if "CAS" is NOT ISDN? Is it really completely different, and thus not interfacable to a typical ISDN pri card or unit? What is the difference? Also there are many revisions of the proms? Differences there? Another thing: If I get the other "13" prom, will I then see a choice of "euro ISDN" under RASC?

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | CAS vs. ISDN Apparently it's about CAS definatley not the same as ISDN... I found something about "P7/P8, the Swedish National CAS Protocol" - but what does it all mean? There is a bunch of choices on the vega such as the ones below. I am trying to get the right Proms (anyone have R13A BTU-D PRA prom files?) But is there a combo of settings where one can get the CAS proms to talk to ordinary PRI interfaces? Rep Power: 0 ![]() | It's somewhat tricky as the PROMSs say RYS 103 512/1 R5E P16 RYS 102 512/2 R5E P15 Which make them CAS proms i believe? The front on the board says "Equiped with LZY-203-2212/1 R1C" which does not necesarily have anything to do with the actual PROMS! What is the CAS PRI difference anyway? I mean on the layer 1 and layer 2 level... Do you by any chance also have PROM-file for ELU-D I have a board without a prom... I have a PROM burner in the basement somewhere - I will try to dig it out! The prom is a M27C1001-15F1 - EPROM; 1 MBIT UV EPROM; 5V; 150ns What range of proms are needed for burning? Thanks!

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Well, it's a CAS PRI. More info about CAS you can find on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel...ated_Signaling and PRI ISDN http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISDN. In my opinion you should use ISDN signalling for integration (better chance to work). But it will involve some work on BP to configure BTU-D card. If you want, i can send you instruction how to change from CAS to ISDN. Also, check your email. Zoran

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hello! Well I got somewhat further - I got ahold of some PRI proms (but not the lastest version) and I am much further - both sides say "link up" but i have not managed to make calls yet - also there seems to be a wierd bug with the Vega recieving giberish from the numbers -eg. when i dial 123 the vega sees 030303. I can also dial in now but not answer the phone! And nothing comes out on the ISDN trace when i pick up the handset... hmmmmm

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Well still not there... I have the R12 PRA proms, and I think there is a later version. I wonder what the difference is there? It apears that the PBX thinks it's number is From: "00000000000000000000", someone said that the PSTN provider normally gives a PBX it's ID/number. Is that so? And is that something I can set with RASC? And how that that work with the inbound calls? How would one set up the adressing using RASC? More to follow!
