How do i program a Norstar system??? I manage a Option 61C and have recently acquired one of these Norstar systems...Been told to program through of the phones but when i plug the phone into 1 of the 3 RJ-11 jacks on the norstar..nothing happens...Also when i punch down to the first pair ..nothing happens? Any suggestions or is the system dead?

Your boy and girl in the same pic

obtain installation documents. They are easy to obtain on the internet. Search posts on this site for tips. I would contact your local vendor.

What do you mean when you say "one of the 3 RJ11 jacks on the N*. It sounds to me like you have a 3X8 system and are trying to plug a set into where the lines terminate. There should be a male 25pr plug on the unit, and that is where the sets are.

Thanks for the replies back...Yes I was trying to plug into one of the 3 input jacks ( i know dumb!)...the 25 pair is coming out as a single bix...should there be another cable in which the phone should plug in?
Thanks again

You have a 3X8 system. There is a website where you can download the docs you need. Look at some of the previous post, I can't remember the name of the site, but it has all the docs. No other cables for the 3X8, just the one 25pr, and the lines plug into the RJ11's.

You will need to punch down the 25 pair to a 110, 66, or bix block. You can then connect a jack to one of the station pairs (ie. W/B and B) and it should initialize. Let me know if you need help finding manuals.
