Installing a CP100 6.1 VM on a CICS ksu. The System version reads 30BCK07, which I interpret as CICS expanded 2.0 with IRAD. Everything went well until I programmed the manual night service button on DN 11. When I press the button, it does not activate the Night service- it reads "Denied in Admin". I believe the night button programming is OK.

I figured the software versions were compatible up to this point, since I configured the AA, mailboxes, etc. But, might the software need to be upgraded to 4.2 (even though the programming works ok) ? If so, what do I (or the customer) need?

Is there anything else that might be preventing the Night service from activating?

Make sure ext 11 is the control set of the lines in question and also appears in the ring group with the VM DN.

Call Pilot 2.02 Remote Notification Feature: Need Help

Both are already programmed. 11 is assigned as the control set. Both 11 and 26 (VM port) are in ringing group 001. Services are manual and trunk answer is Y.

Maybe I'm overthinking this, but there's one more caveat in the mix.

The customer has telco VM existing on 6th Trk (026).

One more thing to try, have the lines answer immediately by the voicemail on zero rings, just to make sure the voicemail is answering. Then turn the lines off, have seen where you need to toggle the answering of the lines to get this to work. If that doesn't work, put a digital set on the voicemail port and turn the nite ringing on and see if that phone rings.

Also, the telco voicemail shouldn't have anything to do with this since you are controlling the lines.

That's an interesting troubleshooting concept I never thought of! As soon as I get on site, I will connect a digital set to port 26 (voicemail port), and see if it rings. I'll toggle the lines as well. Thanks.

My original question still perplexes me, though. Might I need to upgrade the 2.0 software? Is there a way to check or be sure?

What does your software cartridge say on it? If it is truly 2.0 then you shouldn't be able to run a 6.1 on a 2.0 CICS.

cartidge is 2.0. But- just to complicate things, I just spoke to a Norstar tech who said Call Pilot is "backwards compatible" with 2.0.

He maintains my problem is that both systems CICS and CP100 are 2 digit length, and that hunt groups and 3 digit feature codes don't work until I change them both to 3 digit length.
