I have a customer that wants to have the ability to allow callers to forward themselves out of his voicemail to his cell phone. Will setting up the outbound transfer to his cell number allow callers to do this?

If so, what does the caller push to be transfered? And I assume they will have to press this during his greeting?

TIA,
CMA

STILL DOWN!!!

I figured it out, well read how to do it i should say.

Have to instruct the caller to press a digit, 7, and it will dial the number you have set up for outbound transfer.

Just FYI

You must make sure that there are several programming settings set correctly in order for this to work.

First, make sure that ALL your voicemail ports (DN's) have access to the linepool and is primed to I/C. Secondly, ensure that the class of service for the mailboxes involved is one that allows outdial abilities.

Thirdly, ensure that each mailbox that wants this feature is programmed under "Mailbox" in F983 to "Outdial: Pool (pool number)".

And lastly, the number of min and max channels in the voicemail is set accordly.

Just a side note, if the customer has the Centrex transfer feature built in on their lines, they can insert the "#" before the telphone number to free up the line and let the carrier switch do the transfer. Without the # used, it will occupy TWO lines on the KSU and there will be a lower volume on the call (DB loss).
