Location: SC Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Does anyone know a trick with a Call Pilot to do the following scenario: When the user is on the phone (busy) he wants the caller to get a greeting saying "I am on the phone but am still in the office, please leave a message" and when he is not on the phone he wants a generic greeting like "Thank you for calling, please leave a message"... basically a greeting for when his set is busy and one when it is not. b/c a mailbox can only play one greeting at a time i thought i could set his Fwd On Busy setting to another extension that's not being used and set up the "busy greeting" on it and have his desk extension with the regular greeting...so that if he is on the phone it will Fwd On Busy to the other extension with the other greeting...but when you call in and dial the desk extension, it forwards to the other extension but comes back to the original desk mailbox greeting instead of going to the "busy greeting" extension. If you try this internally, it works the way I need it to...but b/c their calls go thru the AA first it ends up back at the original extension's mailbox. Can anyone think of a way to make it go to that other mailbox instead of transferring back to the original extension? Or does anyone have an easier way of making this work???

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Unfortunately you can't... The voicemail has no way to tell whether you are on the phone or not.. Plus you must program your mailbox to play only one greeting to the caller.... Maybe the easiest way is to explain to the customer that there is no voicemail system in this world with that capability. Sorry...

A user asked me if they could get this feature on their phone since not everyone's does it. I'll try to see if I can figure it out and let you know.

I haven't seen this on a PBX, if you can figure it out, please post on the PBX site. Wait a minute!! you should be able to do this through VM but would require two mailboxs? Not sure with N* , do you have swcondary forwarding __________________

Location: SC Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Rules and Regulations Section First of all, thanks to everyone for the quick response! Ramjet, please keep thinking on this...I know we can rig this some way, some how! Istvan, I tried your recommendation...no success. Thanks for the thought though! Phone_Tech, please try to figure out what your system does if you can...that gave me a little hope! Brewsky, I realize that each mailbox can only play one greeting but by setting up another extension with a mailbox just for their "busy greeting" and changing the Fwd on Busy to that extension the caller will hear that greeting when they are on the phone...but the calls keep bouncing back to the original extension's mailbox (Transfer Callback). I tried to tell the customer to just change their greeting to let the caller know that if they hear this during business hours then they are in the office but on another call....but the person with this issue is the CEO of the company and told my installer that if we can't make this work then he wants the system taken OUT. sooo....that's why I'm trying to rig this up to work. Any other ideas are welcome!! Thanks again, Phonegurl
