Location: USA Rep Power: 6 ![]() | We installed (6) refurbed M7208(s) on a MICS 4.1 The original phones function properly with the "Use Set Volume" feature but the 6 new ones do not. We had the supplier replace the 6 refurbed but have the same problem. I understand this feature doesn't work on "old" phones, can anyone tell me more about the "old" phones? Thank You my good people

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | The Norstar product line started in 1988. Look at the Nortel tag which shows the model number and some other information on when it was manufactured. Remember refurbed phones can be very old and you just don't know what you're getting. All I can say is to call back the distributor where you bought them and tell them your problem and that you want them replaced, again. But also remember that most refurbed distributors aren't bound to provide you compatible phones, thats why they are so cheap. Best bet, put in a couple of extra bucks and get the T series phones. Even refurbed on those will work as they didn't start manufacturing those until DR 5.0 was out. Also, the T series sets are easier to label. I use an excel spreadsheet and then use a razor and metal ruler to cut them out. In the end you will get screwed when buying from a refurbed distributor. Just my two cents.... Brewsky

| Not sure what the problem is, but i am wondering if you can adjust the volume when using the set. Meaning, if you are talking into the handset does the volume bar adjust the handset volume. When the phone is ringing does the volume bar adjust the volume of the line that is ringing. If this works, the feature is not really needed. As for the refurbished comments, well i disagree whole heartedly. I deal with MANY dealers on the refurb side and most will gaurantee the product for 1 year just as if you bought it new. No one is going to sell you a phone that is not compatible, if they do, don't buy from them again. There are just as many OBF's on the market as there are bad refurbed products. THERE IS NO REASON FOR OBF'S. So i guess what i am getting at is one bad apple shouldn't ruin the whole bunch, there are some good refurbished dealers out there. | ||||||||

Location: Canada Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I had the same problem about a year ago, with a couple M7310-s.Then I found out the story about the older phones. Somewhere around 1998 they started to make the phones with this new feature. I took them back to the supplier, they gave me the newer version without any hassle. As cma14 said I have the same experience here (Canada) 1 year replacement gaurantee on the refurbished products. Istvan
