Hi folks-
I'm looking for a replacement for the Norstar m7410 cordless sets. The 7410's we have have limited range, lots of interference problems-- we replace them every year it seems.

The new T7406's look exactly the same as the handset for the m7410, so I don't think they'll be any better.

Also we need a docking station with paging speaker in it, like the m7410's had. Has Nortel introduced anything that does 2.4ghz or 5ghz? We're so frustrated we may remove the Norstar altogether, although we haven't found any key system that's cost-effective for only 12 stations.

Thanks in advance,
Starmanj

Re: Keycode upgrade

The T7406 is alot better. It has a remote base station and can support up to 3 handsets at one time. The battery life and the range has improved significantly. Nortel knew they had an issue with the T7410s and has manufacture discontinued them in favor of the new T7406.

Thanks, that's good news. I'm just not sure it's a real replacement, as the 7410 has its own base station with speakerphone and paging, separate keypad etc. Whereas the 7406 is just a separate cordless phone. It does look like it has better performance, as it uses frequency hopping.

Thats a good thing too! The 7406 had a remote base. you can put it where you need to for best coverage. You can page from the 7406 set. Same softkeys and feature codes.
