I've encountered a problem with the Time/Date Display on our Norstar system...again. The time and date are incorrect. When I [FEAT] xx266344 to enter system programming and change the date and time, they just stay at what I change it to. The time does not advance. This also causes an incorrect time/date stamp on voicemail messages.

This has happened here a few years ago, but I forgot what the fix was.

Help...PLEASE!

Option 11c PRI Issue

Date & Time Programming

There are a couple of different ways access the time change feature, depending on the type of system you have. A programming template is provided below if you need it. Just cut-out the middle areas as well as around the outside of the template. Once cut, place the template over the top 2 rows of buttons on your 7310 or 7324 telephone (typically lines 1 and 2 on your telephone), or the 8 rows on your 7208 telephone.

After you enter programming mode, all methods are pretty much the same.

****** IMPORTANT NOTES ******
*** The 308 and 616 KSU can be programmed with any style Norstar telephone.

*** The 824, Compact ICS and the Modular ICS KSU must be programmed with an M7310 or a M7324 telephone. (A M7208 will not program these systems.)

Access type 1: Press * * TIME (8463) or

Access type 2: Press * * ADMIN (23646)

System displays Password & enter 23646

Display shows 1.Sys speed dial

Press Next Display shows 2. Names

Press Next Display shows 3. Time and date

Press Show Display shows Time 16:24

On the Softkey under the display it says CHANGE

If you wish to change the time, press CHANGE, if not press NEXT

Once you pressed the CHANGE button the hour displays;

If you wish to change the hour, press CHANGE, if not press NEXT

Once you pressed the CHANGE button the hour is erased allowing you to enter the new time - enter the new hour in 24 hour format, when OK press NEXT

Once you pressed the NEXT button the minutes display;

If you wish to change the minutes, press CHANGE, if not press NEXT

Once you pressed the CHANGE button the minutes are erased allowing you to enter the new time - enter the new minutes, when OK press NEXT

Follow the same procedure for changing the date!

Date & Time Problem in detail:

THE PROCEDURE

I log into system programming using [Feat]**266344
(I've even tried this alternate method: Press * * ADMIN [23646])
I press the "NEXT" key until I see "Time & Date"
Press the "SHOW" key and see the current hour displayed.
Press the softkey under "CHANGE" to change this setting, or the softkey under "NEXT" to go to minutes, year, month and day.
After making the change I press the "NEXT" key to save my changes.
I exit sytem programming and the "Update Complete" message flashes

THE PROBLEM

I did this at 12:13 p.m. It is now 12:25 p.m. and the display STILL reads 12:13 p.m. The time is not advancing.

Previously when I updated the time there hasn't been a problem. Just recently, the time and date have stopped advancing.

QUESTION

Is there something that I have to reset? Possibly reset the entire system? Is there a battery that needs to be updated? Bad memory card?

I know a little about our system (more than anyone else here) but was just hoping that some of you true experts can help me out.

Thanks

Colin, I believe that I read that he already went into programming and changed the Time and Date and the problem is that it is not changing like it should... read read read...

Rashan, I would recommend rebooting the system altogether but if that doesn't work then you may have a more serious problem than you hope for...hardware may be on the outs. Someone had this same problem on this foreum recently so you may want to look back thru the previous topics and see if there was any sort of resolution.
