All,

I have a 8X24 with a 4 port StarTalk Flash. I am trying to have two mailboxes attached to the receptionist phone (DN #21), the general delivery mailbox as well as the secretary's own mailbox. The scenario is this: When the auto attendant answer a dialed 0 should forward to the recepeptionist's phone, but if not answered the call should be answered by the General Delivery mailbox (MB 10). If a caller, from the auto attendant dials ext. 21, and it is not answered it should go to the receptionist mailbox (MB 21). Is there anyway to do this, if so what are my options, the standard approaches don't seem to be working.

Thanks.

Sorry, can't have more than 1 mbox assigned to an ext. Suggest kill 1 of the mbox and assign the 1 to the att.

As stated you cannot have more that one VM per DN (Directory Number / Extension). You could assign your receptionist a second DN (under AnswerDN in system programming you will need to select the DN and set it to Appear and Ring.) and then create a voicemail box for that number.

Post back if you need more info.

I have a trick to making an extension seem like it has two mailboxes....We use it here in our office and I have a couple of customers who have this set up for their receptionist when they want to have a personal mailbox in addition to the General Delivery Mbox (GD mbox)also. Follow these instructions and let me know if you have questions.

First go into Feature 983 / MBOX / CHNG / enter the GD mbox #.
Press NEXT to EXT: and press CHNG and then the # key....this will change the display to EXT: (none).
Then press * then ADD and add a new mbox for the persons extension...this time change the EXT: to their extension # like you would normally do when adding a mbox.
Once you have both mboxes set up in F983....
Press Feature 981, then OTHR, enter GD mbox and pswd and OK.
Once in the mbox press ADMIN, then 6.
Choose ADMIN
Choose EXT
Enter the ext that you are working with and OK then OK again.
Enter Start time: i.e. 8:00 am
Enter Stop time: i.e. 12:00 am
More dest? no.
Once you have done these steps, any time a message is left in the GD mbox that persons extension will ring displaying "### calling" and when they lift the receiver to answer the call they will be given the option to login and then to enter their password which will put them into the mailbox.

I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE A LOT BUT ONCE YOU GET IN THERE AND GET IT SETUP IT'S RATHER SIMPLE....IT'S JUST MESSAGE NOTIFICATION TO AN EXTENSION RATHER THAN A PHONE OR A PAGER. LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPS!
