Can anyone offer any tips for programming two MICS with Point-to-Point T1 Tielines? They share a T1 and need to communicate as one system. I'm trying to help someone set this up this week so any advice/tips is helpful. Thanks!

The easiest way to do it is to program each t line as E&M. Then put them is a pool and assign target lines at each end. If you want sys A to be able to call out on sys B, assign an auto dn on each system. I have a couple of systems doing this and it works great. If you dial the auto dn from site A, and get dial tone, dial 9 and away you go. Works a lot better with t lines than standard E&M due to the inherent loss bulit in an analog circuit. If you have any specific questions, just post back and I'll be glad to help. Oh ya, are these new installs? The reason I ask is you will need a coordianated dial plan. Take for instance, on one of my setups, site A has a numbering plan starting with 2221 and an auto dn of 2220. The site B they are connected to has a numbering plan starting with 4221 and an auto dn of 4220. The dest code of 4 at site a uses pool e (ie the t line), absorb none. When you dial 4221 at site A, it selects a channel on the t line and sends 4221 which is also a target line rec'd digits at site b. The target lines on this site ring only, so the call comes in on an icm key. Site B, just the opposite, using dest code of 2. S When site b leaves in the eve, they redirect their main set via the t line (medical clinic) to the main set rec'd digits at site A. Meanwhile site A has fowarded their set to the ans service via the other t line that gives them dial juice. It works fine and last a long time!!!!!

You are so awesome...thanks for your reply!!! I'll be in touch with more detailed questions as soon as I get the ball rolling with all the programming.

We are trying to duplicate this situation here in our office by using two test systems (with no live T1)...we just want to try the point-to-point internal testing. Do I need to have things set up any differently with no T1 present?

One good thing about Auto DN is that you can access Paging to the other system. Once you have dialed the Auto DN you will get dial tone. Dial *630 and you will page external and all internal zones.

Just have a cross-over T1 cable between the systems and all will be fine.

Ok, we've got the crossover cable connected and still no luck duplicating here in the office. We used the chart in the manual to pin-out the cable. Can you tell me what the lights on the DTI card should be doing?

Currently, there is a green flashing light below the icon that is a circle with a dot in the middle...i looked in the manual to see what this means and it says that the DTI card is IN SERVICE while the light is flashing (meaning that there is a loopback test running or that the DTI is being initialized)... the light hasn't stopped flashing since we hooked this up yesterday afternoon.
