RE:

Our compnay currently has a Toshiba Strata DK424 Phone System with the following:
- 26 headsets with caller id
- 18 incoming/outgoing Loop Start CO Lines
- 22 voicemail boxes
- Music on Hold
- Paging port

We are relocating and have decided we need a new phone system. We would like a compariable unit in the Norstar line that offers the features above, but instead of the CO lines we are going to install a T1/DS1 line and hopefully add Call Pilot features, such as fax-to-email. Can anyone recommend a NorStar model?

Thanks in Advance...

I've done change outs like this and like the MICS 0x32, 6.1 software with the call pilot 150. It gives you desktop messaging, and has call center if needed with lan integration, desktop managing. The BCM is also available as a platform, with call pilot and desktop management, however its a relatively new platform and I see some troubles with the hard drive mentioned and some security issues. The MICS 0x32 is a proven platform and is very user / tech friendly. I have installed them with ISDN PRI digital trunks with much success, and the clients are very happy with the feature rich PRI interface. Caller Name and Number...etc. Having said all that, I have also upgraded the 'shiba 424 to the CTX 100 (112 ports) and / or the 670 processors, with the IES32 voice messaging system, allowing the retention of existing phone sets and cards. The PDKU RSTU station cards will migrate to the CTX system, as well as most other cards you may be using in the 424. The IES32 runs on Windows NT server and supports desktop messaging and desktop management , TCP/IP integration for VOIP trunking and IP phones. It does have a hard drive, but is easly backed up to your windows file server by copying and pasting the files and regestry to the file server on the network although I've not had a hard drive crash yet. The CTX Processor backs up to a smart media card and upgrades and restores can be accomplished through the smart card reader. Either choice is good from my point of view......I guess the costs involved in the upgrade versus the complete change out and training on a new system and phone sets would have to be compaired. Just my 2 cents worth.
