Happy new year!

I was called out this morning on a system down. Weather came through and I guess system lost power and system memory was wiped....system reverted to default. I though there was a system battery that held the memory for 72 hours. Is that something that can be replaced or am SOL.

New Years Goals/Resolutions?

it should hold the memory at least 72 hours usually much longer. there is a capacator on the backplane that should make that work. to my knowledge it cant be repalced by the end user maby a repair shop

Can't get thru from outside line...Opt 11

sounds like your RAM cartridge is bad. Try changing the date then unplug for a couple of minutes then plug back in if your date has reverted to january then this is your problem. RAm cartridge is the cart. that your software plugs into....

can this be done?

The MICS feature card has a backup battery which can go dead. Most CICS and MICS normally can last up to seven days. As stated before, the batteries are not normally changed by an end user. I would look in to a norstar repair center, they may be able to help, or install a high end UPS that will keep the system up. Also, do you have a remote access device installed (RAD)? This would allow you to back up the system settings to a computer so that you can at least quickly restore the settings when the power fails again.
