It’s been a while since I last worked on a CICS and I just can’t seem to get 2 door phones or a 7406 to work. I installed 2 Norstar door phones (Ext.'s 230 & 231) with no controllers (DOC's) today, and when I got the door phones connected (after testing the Ext.’s with a 7316) I could not get them to ring a single set. I went in to feature 9*4 and the system found the door phones (230 & 231) and then I set the rings to 5 and the page to none. But the customer wants all the phones to be rung by the door phones so I set up a HG (HG 290), and added all sets 221 - 236 (except the door phones 230 & 231) to that HG and changed the F9*4 call Ext to 290. When I press the button on the door phone I get one tone only from the door phone, but none of the sets in HG 290 ring (I did check the HG member sets and they all have a HG appearance button). Any thoughts?

As for the 7406, the handset just says “scanning” on the screen. I plugged a 7316 in to the port for the 7406 and it works fine. Am I missing a step for the 7406?

thanks,

B~

Have you tried having the doorphone ring an unassigned station and programming all the phones to show that station as an answer dn? I think that was the recommended method. I've never tried a HG version.

The 7406 problem may be that you need to address the phone to the base unit. I gotta go find the docs and let you know later how it's done.

This may assist is you're speaking of Voicemail

First, Thanks for replying!!

I have tried using answer dn, and understand it's the recommended method. but do to the fact they want 2 door phones, I am trying not to use 2 buttons on each set as answer dn keys. I will change it back to answer dn's if if using the HG does not work.

If you find any help on the 7406, that would be great.

Thanks,

B~

Jobs in NYC

First, the 7406 guide says to match the handset to the RJ11 jack of the base unit you are using (handset ID 1, 2, or 3).

Press the Options button on the handset
Press Show
Press Next until the display show 6. Handset ID
Press Show to Display the Handset ID (should match the location of the RJ11). Press ok to cmplete or change to correct it.
Enter password will show
if this is a new phone enter the default password, if not and someone has assigned a password, you're out of luck. probably gotta call ITAS or your support people to unlock that.
Sorry I didn't include the default password, but if you don't have it and the handset ID needs to be changed, I would just move the RJ11 to match your handset ID if you don't have 3 phones assigned to your base unit.
Press OK
Display will show Press Digit 1 - 3
Current ID shows on the bottom left, change it from here
Press ok to complete

Then you need to assign a security code
in the options menu, press next until you see 4. Set S.S. Code
The display will show Press 6 digits
Enter a 6 digit code
Press ok to accept

Press next to show 5. Send S.S. Code
Unplug the AC adapter at the base station and plug it in
In 15 sec, press and hold the OK button on the handset for 5 seconds (this sends the code to the base unit).
Display should show Send Ok!
you should hear a beep when finished.

If you get a send error, repeat the steps to send the codes.

goooood luck!
