CBC Call-By-Call Limits

I'm trying to set up CBC limits on a PRI. If anyone has done this before, I'm curious as to how many different categories can be achieved by the phone company for separate categories. I'm trying to limit certain incoming phone numbers so that admin lines, etc, can be provisioned to always have a certain level of service with a minimum number of lines always available on the PRI. Can they put tags on specific DIDs as FX, TIE, INWATS, E&M, to give even though they're not FX's etc? I saw the other section about SID's but that seems more for rerouting than limiting minimum and maximum incoming line groups. I am curious how the SID's are used if someone is clear on that as well. All help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Although they cannot put tags on certain DID#s, you can have virtual groups set up, in the DMS (and likely other vendor CO switches).

For example, if you have 100 DID #s that will share 23PRI channels for inbound calls (can be used for outbound as well), instead of "pointing" all 100 DID's to all 23 channels, you could do smoething like:

- Set up one virtual group with 90DIDs for the (not so important) people which point to 10 channels of the PRI
- Set up another virtual group with 10 DIDs for the important people, which point to another 5 or 10 channels of the PRI.

This would give the important people a much higher (or guaranteed if you want) chance of receiving incoming calls.

Bear in mind that the more you do things like this, the more inefficient the lines are, if they are not in use by the "important" group.

I'm aware of VFG's and they're set up by the telco after which you have no control other than going back and requesting them to change the sizes. Since trying to research this (which is obviously used by banks and large organizations), I found that the FX label can be assigned arbitrarily to LDNs with a SID. Then the BCM has CBC limits to be able to adjust by customer control, stating mininums and maximums. This could be changed by customer programming if thresholds were judged to be insufficient or if traffic demands were higher at given times/projects etc. I haven't had the opportunity to test yet, however I was told I could have different SIDs on the FX label/path, but the BCM only seems to have threshold setting to the label FX and not SID unless I'm reading it wrong? This is where I'm at. I'm of the opinion that I can set thresholds for FX category, but SIDs only allow me to redirect the call, which I still don't understand why you'd even SIDS. Help from the upper echelons please!
