Cant Dial 423 area code w/ 404 exchange

We have a BCM 400 that for some reason is getting a fast busy when dialing 423 area code with a 404 exchange. Other exchanges in the area code are working. Further testing reveals that 423 442 exchange does not work either. I've tried the numbers with and without a "1" and with and without the area code, but no joy. It lets my dial the complete number and after about 3 seconds, I get a busy signal.

Our PRI is through ATT. They have been out and connected their SUNSET to the PRI and dialed the number with no problems.

Are you getting a 60 cycle (normal) busy or a 120 cycle (fast) busy?

Look in your routes and destination table for the PRI and see if there is anything in there that looks unusual or would prevent that combo.

Change your release reasons to detailed - this will tell you why the call is not completing. Services > Telephony Services > General Settings > Release reasons.

Problem solved. It is was a combination of factors. Our local calling plan with AT&T dips into the 423 area code. Basically some 423 numbers are long distance and some are not.

I had to add a DN prefix to my list of public network DN lengths. It needed to accept all 10 digits if the number starts with 423.

Now I can dial 9+1+423+num for long distance and 9+423 for local (leave the one out).
