?? What are you looking to do, exactly? You can call in, and, once you hear your own greeting, press **, and the Norstar prompt will ask you for the mailbox and the password all in one digit string, then #, then it's just like your there.

As soon as I hit ** I get "Good bye" and the line is dropped.

I assume something needs enabling ?

It seems like I have heard of that before, but I can't remember what the solution was. As far as I know, "**" has been a default function of Norstar/BCM line since the Startalk days. Try searching old posts for this. Or maybe someone with a better memory than me will remember.

Make sure you have remote initialization enabled in the CP.

Remember that anyone can access the CP the same way so it would be better to change the System Admin password to something other than the standard 4 digit password.

Remote initialization only has to do with a user being able to initialize their mailbox remotely. Guys, and gals, I have looked at the docs on this and can't find any setting that can be toggled. I don't have a bench unit so can't test or look at the gui. Seems that there is no setting for this that I can recall. If any of ya have a bench unit and can test, please post back.
