Red face Understanding Target lines and Extensions.

Hello all.

I'm trying to change a users extension from (say from x201 to x284) but can't figure it out despite trying all sorts of things on our BCM400 3.7. I thought that changing an extension only involved adding the correct target line to the extension I want to change it to! Apparently not!!!

So, how do I go about accomplishing this?

Cheers,
tkb.

If what you are trying to accomplish is to change the internal DN (extension #), there is a DN renumber wizard under "Wizards" on that first BCM "page" with the icons (https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx). If that's not what you mean, post back.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a million -

Just out of curiosity, is there a way of doing this manually? For instance, if I did not have access to an administration level password, how else can this be performed? Or is this type of change only performed with admin level password? I have access to an account that only has privileges to the Services area. The admin password is periodically changed so next time I need to make such a change it might not be readily available!

Cheers,
tkb.
