Self Install BCM 50 - Should I? - PBX Info :: Your Free PBX, PABX and Telephone Information Resource

Hello everyone. I am considering the purchase of a BCM 50 for my small business. I have extensive knowledge in telco wiring and computer networking. However, I have never actually installed or programmed a telephone system (other than the cabling). I am thinking of attempting the installation and programming of the system myself. I would require the following:

4 incoming lines
10 handsets
20 voice mailboxes

Am I taking on too much or is the installation and programming of this system fairly straight forward? Are there programming and install guides on the net which can guide me?

I am able to purchase this system through a local distributor at a significant discount from what I have been quoted locally which is why I have thought of doing it myself.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
