Rep Power: 7 ![]() | message waiting lights I have a location with a BCM that I installed. The location has 3 ATA2's two for fax machines and 1 for a polycom speaker phone. Here is the problem... The main fax (the larger more expensive one) has trouble faxing out to specific numbers. It will complete successfully if its transmission speed is lowered to about 4800 bps. Whereas the cheaper smaller fax, does not have any issue at all. I have tried many things, switched fax machines, wired the fax directly to the ATA, swapped out the ATA's. Just today I was informed that on the main fax they were having trouble receiving an important fax, the line kept dropping. For outbound at the highest speeds, it never connects with the other fax. At lower speeds 14400 and 9600 it connects but drops after a page or so. Any suggestions.... :casstet: :casstet: PS. The trunking is a flex PRI with 10 channels provisioned. All inbound faxes are received over DID numbers and all outbound faxes are using PRI-A. [Edited on 1/5/2003 by kennytlaloc]

Location: Vernon, BC, Canada Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Missing Message Wait a second, If your smaller cheaper fax machine has no problems at all on the same ATA, same PRI, the problem may not the PRI or the switch, it could be your fax machine. I've got a customer with a very expensive network fax. printer, scanner, and it has issues sending faxes to certain machines. Its a xerox i believe, and it does not like to talk to brother fax machines. Just the way the G3 interfacing between them works - they just dont like each other. Same thing, when they switched to another fax machine, it worked fine. Didnt matter if it was on analog trunks or PRI. Check out the fax machine - at the other end. marty

Rep Power: 7 ![]() | PBX Call ID Change OK according to Nortel You need to apply the latest patch for VM. Its a very long drawn out explination so I wont get into it. In fact I dont know if I believe it but you need to patch it anyway. I've done mine and I'll see if it helps.
