Unhappy NAM - Major problems

Hi gang, this group is invaluable, and I am coming again with a problem.

We have a client with a Fiber NAM 4.1, connected to an MICS with 2 6-port fiber expanders (one is a combo), and the MICS runs software version 7.0-XC.

Until today, the NAM has worked fine on the 7.0 software, for about 4 months (we upgraded the MICS from 6.1 non-XC to 7.0-XC 4 months ago).

Today, the client had a power outage, and the power was off for longer than the UPS battery lasted.

When the power came back on, the NAM no longer wants to behave.

After almost a full 8-hours of tearing out hair and troubleshooting, here is the problem:

- When first booted up, the NAM works perfectly well for about 10 minutes, then it looses connectivity to the MICS.

- Feature 981, 983, 985, etc. all say "inactive feature".

- Feature 916 works fine

When logged into F-916, in the first 10 minutes after power-up, all 16 of the voice ports on the NAM show as "....." meaning that they are up and running and working fine.

After 10 minutes, the system no longer has connectivity to the Norstar, and all of the ports through F-916 show "aaaaa" meaning that they are connected to the KSU but not configured for Voice Mail.

Question - anybody else seen this problem, and if so, anybody have a fix for it ?

Help, and thanks in advance for that help.

dave

What would I be looking for on the monitor ?

Tried connecting SVGA monitors to the monitor output connector to no avail - the NAM seems to want to give VGA not SVGA, so monitor shows nothing other than gobbilly-gook.

Assuming that we can locate a VGA monitor (if that helps), what would I be looking for on the monitor ?

Thanks.

dave

Look for the Unix progress and see if it's completing or crashing.

Hope you have the sekur backup disk up to date.
If not make sure you make one while it still thinks the 16 ports are alive.
I think that's in F916.
