Rli change on OPtion 11

I HAVE NRU 9.0 A NAM 4.0 I'M TRYING TO CONNECT DIRECTLY FROM LAPTOP TO NAM VIA DB9 PIN CABLE ANY IDEA ERROR MESSAGE IN NORSTAR VOICEMAIL MANAGER 4.0 IS ERROR CONNECTING TO SERVER.

Are you using a NULL modem cable?
Are you using the right IP address?

You need to chnage the IP on your laptop in TCP/IP settings to match the range of NMA's IP, if the NAM is 192.168.110.10 then make you laptop 192.168.110.20 then reboot laptop.
You should only need to change the NAM's IP if you hook it up to a network.

ok, should i use the db 9 pin cable croos over or ethernet crossover cable nic to nic.But what if the NAM only has a db 9 cable input????

Procomm Aspect Script

Build a connection using a dial up connection---set it for modem-direct serial connection (com_) your com port # ----under options setidel time for never----use this connection before running Norstar Voice Mail Manager 4.0 ----that is how i used to connect.

Nic to Nic is the easiest way to connect--use crossover cable
