Rep Power: 0 ![]() | MICS Hunt group problems We are using the hunt group feature on a Nortel MICS. The hunt group is set up with member DNs that ring only - the mode is set to Rotary, - Hunt Delay is set to 4 - If Busy is set to Overflow - Q timeout is set to 30 - Overflow is to Voicemail DN If I call the hunt group DN directly, the call flows as would be expected. That is, it rings (4 times) on first set, starts ringing on second set, when timeout has reached 30 seconds it overflows to voicemail. However, a transferred call flow is handled differently. When the receptionist presses transfer and enters the hunt group DN the call will start ringing at one of the member DN sets. As soon as the receptionist presses Release or JOIN, the call immediately switches to another member of the hunt group. This is resulting in confusion as the call may only ring once at the first set and then switch to the next set in the hunt group.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Still no solution found to this problem Yes I have tried TekTips. No one has come up with a solution there either. It would seem that he only workaround would be to change the mode from Rotary to Broadcast. The root of the problem appears to be the way that the MICS processes a blind transfer?

Location: Meechigan Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Just curious, what happens if the receptionist presses Transfer, then waits for a person to pick up (regardless of their position in the Q), then presses join or hangs up. This may be a "this is how it works issue". Never run into it myself, but I can't see anything tweakable or "correctable" from your posts.

Thanks gogoGophers for your response. Yes, a supervised transfer works just fine. But in a busy office, a blind transfer would be a preferred method of operation.
