Location: Springfield, Illinois Rep Power: 6 ![]() | dialed name display Sounds like Telco. Double check the loop current.Testing Loop Current Here is how you test for this using a standard Volt Meter that also test MA- Milliamps: A.) Remove the bridge clip from the line at the RJ-21X block B.) Place your leads from your meter onto the RJ-21X block so they act as your Bridge Clip C.) Take the phone line "Off Hook" D.) When you go off hook you will get a Milliamp Reading that should fall somewhere between 24 to 36 milliamps. E.) Anything lower than 20 milliamps is known to cause DTMF recognition problems. Symptoms of High Loop Current Include: - Burned Out Key, PBX or Data Equipment - Garbled Data and Modem Failures - Cut-offs & Squealing on Lines - Crosstalk, Echo & Hollow Sounding Lines - Numerous Intermittent Circuit Failures - Off Premise Equipment Problems Symptoms of Low Loop Current Problems: - Poor Voice Transmission Quality & Low Volume - Ghost Rings - Wrong Numbers (poor DTMF signals) - Lost Calls During Transfer - Data Loss Good Luck!!

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | acd queue full This sounds like a ground fault. Might be loop current but at ringing stage there is no off hook condition. How many lines are effacted? Is there static if a call is intercepted? A ground fault could be Telco, could be in old wiring subject to age or mice. Test by connecting a device direct to Dmark on each effected circuit. Burnt out lightning protection blocks can do this too. Paricularly the old carbon types. Let us know what else gives or what happens with Verizon. Cheers PhM

Location: Kansas Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Call Foward on Cell Phone Heard of a site with this problem where a user was picking up and then dumping the call. I'v been told that the person no longer works there. Also could be something as simple as a headset plugged into a headset jack, so they hang up. MarvO said it
