VoIP

I want to add a smart ring to one of my lines on my MICS to use as a fax number. I use a CID trunk card, and love the caller ID functionality that links thru to the NAM and desktop messaging. I've tried a couple different fax and smart ring detection devices, but none so far have allowed pass thru of caller ID. I've seen the ComShare 7500 on ebay and the person said it does allow CallerID but i'm skeptical.

Anyone with smart ring device / caller ID experience to confirm/deny or say a product they have had success with?
Thanks!
Marty

ccos question

You need to program the Comshare to answer at 2 rings not 0 (just like vmail if you have it at AA) so that it has the chance to recieve the signal from the Telco.
