Location: northeast Rep Power: 6 ![]() | pilot Number I have a client with an old 8x24 and old startalk like the old KSU jobs. They are having an issue when an inbound call comes in from the outside (DID equipped system) and the caller punches in the ext number of their party, it seems to NOT be recognizing all the digits, the calls seem to be being directed to the wrong mailboxes or no mailboxes (getting no user messages) anyone have any clues or opinions? We have changed out the mail once already, and now are possibly planning a NAM upgrade to correct this BUT I am not sure that would work?! TIA for any and all advice!! Location: Springfield, Illinois Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Software feature Does it happen on all the DID crkts? or just one? It sounds like your loop current on one DID crkt is low. If you have a low Loop Loss current from the CO, it will cause "DTMF" recognition problems. Symptoms of High Loop Current Include: - Burned Out Key, PBX or Data Equipment - Garbled Data and Modem Failures - Cut-offs & Squealing on Lines - Crosstalk, Echo & Hollow Sounding Lines - Numerous Intermittent Circuit Failures - Off Premise Equipment Problems Symptoms of Low Loop Current Problems: - Poor Voice Transmission Quality & Low Volume - Ghost Rings - Wrong Numbers (poor DTMF signals) - Lost Calls During Transfer - Data Loss Good Luck!! Location: Kansas Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Software feature The old Startalk units have a DTMF Delay Parameter that you can tweak that will most likely fix your problem. The ability to change this value was added because some models of cell phones and PBXs send a tone shorter than 48 ms duration. The minimum industry specification for DTMF tone duration is 80 ms. CAUTION: Changing the duration of the DTMF parameter is a trade off between improving the ability to detect a shorter DTMF tone and increasing the possibility of Talk Off. As you improve one, the other gets worse. MeridianMan, post to me if you need procedure. It is password protected. MarvO said it

Location: Kansas Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Moving customer database to new Option 11C from 11E MeridianMan, Thanks for the update. I wish the DTMF timing thing would have completely cured the problem for you. I'm sure that the old Startalk unit has made a lot of turns. We all really appreciate a resolution update like you give. It lets us close the loop and make sure that we are giving out true and accurate information. MarvO said it
