Location: New England Rep Power: 6 ![]() | BCM 50 keycode questions I have recently taken over management of a BCM 50 for a client and I am having trouble installing keycodes. They wanted to add 1 IP client seat. The first keycode I got came in the form of a .lic file that I put on a USB flash drive and I attempted to enter it automatically using Element Manager. I got an error message saying the keycode file was invalid and and Alarm 31052 on the main set. I decided the vendor I purchased the keycode from must have had a problem emailing the file, so I had them put it on a CD and I am still getting the same error. At that point I decided to just purchase another keycode(IP client seat) from another vendor. I tried to enter that keycode manually and now I get the invalid keycode error on Element Manager, but no Alarm 31052 on the phone. It turns out the first vendor did make a mistake by purchasing an auth code for an expansion cabinet(which we already have a keycode installed for), not the IP client seat as requested. My questions are these- Can I install a sequence #4 keycode before the sequence #3 keycode? Can a .lic file be forwarded via email without issue? How big is a .lic file? Am I missing something in this process? Thanks in advance for any help.

Location: New England Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Update I managed to solve the problem this afternoon. I purchased one more keycode and attempted to enter it manually using element manager and it gave me the invalid keycode error. I then attempted to enter the keycode using the telset interface and that was the trick. Everything updated correctly and the system now has all three new keycodes. Has anyone had success using the automatic .lic file upload or am I better off using the telset method no matter what?

That being said, I personally just got through some wierd stuff that had to do with registering a new i2050 client. I believe there is still some bugs to be worked out of the 50. I have NOT had any problems with keycodes using the upload. Hopefully the 2.0 version will stabilize things a bit.

The latest keycode you get includes all of the exisiting codes registered against your system, make sure that all of the items are turned on in the feature list, as per the paper you get with the the latest code. In short, double check the BCM 50 see's all of the Features enabled as per the Keycode sheet. I have seen some disappear ! I have had the most success using Feature 9*8 , rather than Element Manager
