Exclamation HP and XP Home Edition connecting to BCM

I had to buy a new laptop to replace my IBM with XP Pro. I am having a problem connecting to BCM's. Is any one using XP home on their laptop and what setting are you using. I'm a new guy on the block here but I have been a System Tech since 1976 and have worked with nortel since DR1 and SL1 blue.
Thanks Carl

I have not done it with that combination, however, it should not make a differents. Are you using the same cable as before?
I believe the settings should be 8, None, 1
If that does not work you will need to refer to the documenation.

Man, you really are old! You should be able to connect to the BCM just as before using a cross over cable to either LAN port. At my network places set your laptop to the ip address you want. If the default is 192.168.110.10, I always set mine to be .11. Did you have any problem before?

By the way, I too remember the SL1's (Blue). That's where I cut my Nortel teeth.

Have heard of some issues with XP Service Pack 2 and connecting to BCMs, the N* / BCM guys are playing with it here but I haven't heard much from them recently.
