ITG Line and BPS2000 Setups?

Does anyone know if the following is possible?

The school that I work at has a paging system that uses telephones to page out on. Here's how it works... a user picks up an analog phone that is connected only to the paging system. The user can then dial a room number, and is connected to the paging system in it, or dial "#X", where X is the zone they want. They say their message, and listen to the return circuit if needed, and then hang up. Upon disconnecting, the system disconnects whichever PA/speaker system that the user was connected to, just as a normal phone system would.

Here's what I would like to do:

Is it possible to somehow connect the paging system to the Norstar phone system? I would need people to be able to dial an extension, such as they would any phone, but be connected to the paging system instead of a phone. If I could do that, then I would be great. I believe that all I would have to do is connect an ATA device to the system... am I correct? From there, I can just run a line to the PA system control. That appears to be all that is being done now, is an analog phone circuit is running to the system.

Finally, is there any way to specify who is allowed to call the specified extension, that would be assigned to the PA system? I wouldn't really want any student that knows the extension to be able to call in and make pages across the building... I suppose we could physically unplug the circuit during school hours, but that would still be a pain.

I'm at home right now, so I'm not sure, but I believe that the paging system is a Bogen FR-2000, if that helps.

Any comments, thoughts, or suggestions?

M2250 console help

Ohboy ! We do this one all the time and it's how the big boys (Meridian)
do paging. Put a couple lines (line ports) (or I suppose if you've got only
one use one) into a line pool, let's say pool K. Now give pool K an access code.
Let's say 4. Whoever has access to line pool k under line pool assignment can
page. Whoever doesn't doesn't. Now pick up the phone with access to pool
K and dial 4, you will now hear paging system dial tone and you can dial any
digit string you want and because it's a trunk, it's 2 - way. Good Luck.

Andrew,
Yes you can add an ATA2 to a DN, then connect a Bogen TAMB which then connects to your regular paging system. You will not, however, be able to restrict that DN or other internal calling DNs.
Another way is connect a trunk port to a Bogen ZPM Zone Page Module. You can restrict trunk access and dial paging zones. The trunk could be set up into a pool as mark suggests or could be put on a Key marked Page but really programmed for the Trunk port. Then name the trunk 'Page' and your done.
