norstar question

Good afternoon. I have a small norstar phone system with three lines and two phones. Currently I have it programmed for all three lines to be on each phone. I want to upgrade the software and install voicemail. I need the option that during business hours, if no on can get to the phone before 4 rings, it puts the call into a cue with music on hold, and then rings back after, say, 30 seconds.

What I was quoted was upgrading the software to cics 6.1, and installing call pilot 100 (4x10 w/ call center acd cue). Is this really all I will need, and is it pretty user friendly to program this?

Also, (even though this is probably a taboo question in a nortel forum!) if anyone has an alternative phone system suggestion that would fit these requirements, that would be great!

Of course thanks you for your help in advance.
PBXInfo is by far the best site I have ever visited!!

Your quote will do what you want to do.

As far as "pretty user friendly", that's always a loaded question.
The GUI to administrate the Call Pilot is well done. I have to work with it regularly, and I have no pet peeves. You will have to learn the lingo associated with the Call Pilot, especially the Call Center portion, and how things like "Company Greetings", "Greeting Tables", and "Agents" all are put together. But it's not rocket science.

Can't help you with the alternative system thing, we service and sell 99 % Nortel.

The quote will do what you are looking for but you can also look at Vodavi we service and sell several types of systems and the Vodavi system will also do what you are looking for and it costs less and has a great warranty. I love the Nortel product but the company is not much to speak of.

I'd recommend the CallPilot 100 ACD any day of the week for your office. Your application is very simple and your quote fits the bill perfectly.
