EXCELLANT!!!!!

I'm considering having Verizon FIOS internet service installed in my home. As part of the install, Verizon will convert my current voice lines to fiber as well. I currently have a Norstar 8x24 in my home (using 2 POTS lines) and was curious to know if anyone has seen an installation using FIOS for the voice lines. Will there be any impact on the 8x24?

Thanks,
Scott

Noone else has posted, so I'll give you my .02. We don't do residential, so I am only speculating.

The vast majority of folks still use analog sets at home, so when you say that Verizon is converting your current pots lines to fiber as well, I would assume there will be some sort of device (MUX ?) to convert the fiber signal back to analog dial tone, probably at the Network Interface. You will probably have to switch the jumpers that bring the lines to your KSU from thier current location to this new interface.

Slag...this could be your house

Thanks for the input. To answer Gopher's question, there will be a new interface device installed when the fiber is brought to the home. This interface (called an Optical Network Terminal, or ONT) will convert the fiber to copper, which is then connected to the home voice cabling without making any changes internally. My reason for asking was simply to see if anyone had ever been exposed to an install of this type. One of greatest fears in opting into this is that the 8x24 would have some problem with the dial tone coming out of the ONT.
