I have a customer with a MICS XC3.0 that keeps getting Alarm code 51-02
The customer would find this on the alarm set often in the morning, and also the system would re-set during business hours.

Alarm 51 -A Trunk Module has been disconnected. Record the code displayed on the alarm telephone. Identify the module that caused the alarm. Power down the system. Check all connections to the Trunk Module. If the problem persists, replace the cables.

I swapped the CI cards from a trunk module...problem continued
Installed a new 0X32 keeping the MICS XC3.0 using NRU 11...probem continues....

Any ideas...I could replace the Software and hand-bomb the switch..but there's like 100 + sets

Any input would be much appreciated !

THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY BE HAVING A MODULE OR FIBER CONNECTION TO THE MODULE PROBLEM-

Would 51-02 not mean it is Module 2 being the main cabinet ??

Do you think it could be a problem with the 6 port Fiber expansion ?

I recently had a very similar situation, and after replacing all cards in the KSU (including 2 6 port fiber combo cards) and working with tech support for 2 days, the answer was - reinitialize programming. I did not want to do this. This may vary from your situation but I'll pass along what I did anyway. The system was spontaneously rebooting. In the KSU was a DTI card (for PRI), a 4 port LS/DS and 2, 6 port fiber exp, combo cards. In addition, they were having some very strange things happening with incoming calls on the PRI (to long to go into). I went into hardware, disabled module 2, changed the card type from PRI to T1, reenabled the module, disabled the module, changed it back to PRI, reenabled the module. This process clears out some line and routing information. I haven't had a restart since (3 weeks). I don't know if you can do something similar with the CI cards (change them in hardware to something else, then back again), but before you reinitialize, it might be worth a try.

Gophers, I too had the same trouble with a PRI and did the same thing. The switch has been quiet ever since. It very well might clear the trouble in the CI cards as well.
