I have a used system with a Norstar VM3.0 Mod 2ms. Inside the case it looks like a pc (has a floppy drive, serial ports, PS2 Keyboard, PS2 mouse, but no video) at it's connected to our KSU by fiber. I can create mail boxes and do other admin (F983), but I'm having a problem where the mailbox password resets itself to something (I wish I knew what) and you get a prompt that your password has expired.Any idea on how I can turn this off or find out what the password is reset to?

Thanks!

Greg

Can't enable D channel

YOU CAN,BUT YOU NEED TO GET INTO THE NAM WITH NORSTAR MANAGER. ALL COS OF SERVICE ARE EITHER 90-60 OR 30 DAYS BEFORE YOU ARE FORCED TO CHANGE THE PASSWORD.
THE MAILBOX THAT KEEPS CHANGING IT'S PASSWORD, WHICH ONE IS IT.

Force Password change

That was my next attempt. It changes passwords on every mailbox every 30 days. I would like to shut that off...

Nam 4.0 Documentation Password

He's right. One of the first things I do when I get a NAM in for deployment is edit one of the Class of service numbers to have a password expire set to 0. I do this with Norstar Manager on my laptop and a crossover cable. I set my laptop to the same IP range as the NAM is set for or I change the NAM's IP if that is what is wanted.
