IP cabinet on OPT 11 problem

while i sit here and read the manuals and give some thought to handling the norstar line. I presently install the NEC DS series of systems and toshiba. What bothers me is all the posts I read about all these problems that you guys have. Whats the deal, is it my flashbacks thats haunting me or does the programming of norstar systems reall create all these posts.

what gives........

Don't sweat it!! Just new folks not used to the system yet. Jump in with both feet, and get wet. It won't be long and you won't even need a manual to prog one with.

LD 43 Help please

Actually Ive programmed and installed a bunch of 616's. Just another phone system to me, but what I dont like is that many businesses like to have their system setup square. This is a big limitation on the norstar. And if you equiped every station with a 24 button phone the cost would go through the roof. Pooling lines dont work for everybody and I am sure not a fan of pool groups.....

1 line per key.......thats the school i am frum.......

Hey Barbie,
Another reason there are so many posts is because Norstar is fun. you can make it do just about anything if you think about it a bit.
I thought square systems were almost a thing of the past.

MarvO said it

how exactly does this work

oh yea one more reason that norstar has alot of posts. Its been the #1 selling key system in the world since I think 1988 and show me another system that the original phone that came out in the 80's still works on the systems that are being made brand new today.

Norstar Weird Things

Mitch,

Don't forget 'square' is just a reference to where the CO lines are mapped. Mapping square allows greater flexability than any other template. You certainly do not have to map one line to one button - it would be insane in some conditions. Line pooling just emulates trunk routes for outgoing. There are ACD, HUNT, ILG buttons, Answer Keys, multiple intercom keys and other ways to have a ringing call land on a phone without a full button show. Kind of like MARP and multilple DN Keys (not) on Meridian 1s.
There are many posts on Norstar because like marvo says Norstar is FUN! Show me the NEC and Toshiba posting groups?????????????
N* doesn't have hissy fits and dump programing

Wank Wank Wank.....

Cheers all.
