| Our small company has a Nortel BCM system with 4 analog lines hooked up to it. The analog lines aren't working out and we would like to upgrade to a digital circuit for the following reasons: -Instantaneous Caller ID (Automated Attendant doesn't have to ring before picking up) -Outbound Caller ID can be changed to refelect whichever Outbound CID number we decide. -Conferencing other parties on analog lines is horrible, the other parties usually can't hear each other (very faint) sometimes. -Clarity on voice calls The 4 telephone lines and DSL (on fax line) that we have now serve our capacity needs well, but we would like the above features. It seems like a PRI for us would be overkill (price and capacity wise) since we don't need DID or 24 channels. 2 ISDN lines with 4Spids sounds more on track. Are we on the right track with this BRI idea or are there some pitfalls we should look out for? We are located in the NE with Verizon service... Thank you for any help!! | ||||||||

| UPDATE:Changing local route, what should I look for? Thanks guys... I spoke with Verizon, the lines are nothing more than I pay now for regular pots lines. Per minute fees etc. One thing I find weird is that they say you should use a DIFFERENT long distance carrier for long distance dialing... and not use Verizon. They said this is because their service has a dedency to drop packets on long distance calls! I've run into this with video conferencing at clients, was just funny to hear. They also mentioned the BRI does not do CallerID at all. I find this hard to believe, I thought ISDN-BRI did it by default?? Their flexgrow PRI pricing wasn't as bad as I was expecting either, but 10 lines is overkill for us... and getting a fractional with 256k data service would be so slow I prefer the DSL Can anyone shed some light? Verizon/NY. Thanks | ||||||||
