Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi, I have a standalone BCM 3.6 here with a call centre application running. The average CPU usage is between 20% and 30% even outside business hours when there is no staff in premises. During business hours the CPU usage goes and stays above 30% slowing the system down and causing frequent crashes (once every two weeks) requiring system reboot. So the call centre downtime for this site is 1 hour every month. Not good. The system was recently upgraded from 3.5 and I thought there might be some system process started as a result of the upgrade running in the background and sucking these resources. I replaced the hard disk with a new clean 3.6 image and restored the user data - same problem with high CPU utilisation even in the case of no external traffic outside business hours. I just wonder if the call reporting server is causing the problems. All real-time data is transferred from the BCM to the Master client PC. I cannot really experiment on this system as it is a live one otherwise I would have bypassed the call reporting side and see what would happen. Any ideas guys as to what the issue might be? Have you experienced anything similar? Bloody Windows NT! Thank you.

| Can you post us the system parameters, such as how many sets, what kinds (IP, digital), trunking type (POTS lines, digital PRI/T1), any other systems that are networked to/from this one. This issue may not be related to the call center at all. There are a number of patches that are available with 3.6 that should probably be applied to help bring the system current (and yes, there are a few call center related patches). A good running 3.5 system may not run half as well as an unpatched 3.6. | ||||||||

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | The system has 28 digital (TDM) handsets and two PRIs (60 channels). No IP handsets or POTS trunks, no networking with other sites. On the patch side it has got the RCC 2.1.047 patch applied for call reporting. Nortel has recently release RCC 2.1.050, however, I don't think this will fix my problem. Anyway, please see below all patches currently applied on this system. Your help is much appreciated. Rep Power: 8 ![]() | There is also a known problem with the MSC card and the motherboard on some of the BCM's prior to 3.6. I don't have the bulletin in front of me, but will try to find it. This problem causes reboots, and they increase in frequency. __________________ Two snips, a snort, a turn, a fly, and a grunt, and it was so simple, like the jitterbug, it plum evaded me!
